One-click apps on a VPS · Galaxium Hosting help
Order a VPS that installs an app for you on first boot, find its login details, and know what we look after and what you do.
A one-click app is a normal VPS plan that installs an app for you the first time it boots. You still get the whole server with full root access.
Find an app
- Browse the app catalog, or open VPS solutions for ready-made setups.
- Each app page shows the Minimum and Recommended plan, the Ports it uses, and an After you deploy checklist.
- You can also pick an app on the Apps tab of step 1 when you order a VPS.
Click a plan on the app page to jump straight to the order's review step.
What gets installed
- Apps run in Docker on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.
- The app's files live in a folder under
/rooton your server. - There are no shared default passwords. Passwords and keys are generated on your server at first boot and saved in a file only root can read (the app's
.envfile in its folder). We never see them. - Databases and admin pages that have no login of their own only listen on the server itself. Reach them over an SSH tunnel.
Log in to your app
- Wait for the setup screen to show Ready.
- Open your server's Overview. The endpoints card lists the addresses for your app, with a copy button.
- Check the First login card on the app's page. It says how the first login works for that app, for example creating the admin account on first visit or reading a password from the
.envfile.
Update an app
Connect over SSH, go to the app's folder under /root, and run:
docker compose pull && docker compose up -d
Take a snapshot first, so you can roll back. Read the app's release notes before big upgrades.
Who looks after what
| We look after | You look after | |---|---| | The VPS itself: power, network, the panel, and installing the app on first boot | The app after it's installed: settings, updates, users and your data |
Galaxium Hosting isn't connected with the projects behind these apps. Help with the app itself comes from its community or maker.
Good to know
- Apps are chosen when you order. A reinstall offers operating systems only, so to switch apps, order a new server with that app.
- Running more apps side by side with Docker yourself is fine.
- Back up your app's data. See VPS snapshots, backups and reinstalling.
- If you turn on a firewall inside the server, open the app's public ports there too.
