Upgrade your VPS to a bigger plan · Galaxium Hosting help
Move to a bigger plan in the same line, what you pay today, and the cases where support has to do it for you.
You can move your VPS to a bigger plan in the same line without reinstalling. Your files stay where they are.
Upgrade
- Open Billing → Subscriptions. The Buy upgrades button on your server's Overview goes there too.
- Click Change plan on your VPS.
- Pick the bigger plan and click Upgrade and pay $X.
You pay only the difference for the rest of the current billing period, and your account credit is used first. From your next renewal you pay the new plan's normal price.
The bigger plan is then applied to your server. This can take a little while, because it isn't always instant. If your server still shows the old size after the upgrade, open a support ticket.
Tip: Take a snapshot before an upgrade, just in case. See VPS snapshots, backups and reinstalling.
What you can't change yourself
- Moving to a smaller plan. Disks can't be made smaller, so a VPS can't move down to a plan with less storage. Order a new, smaller server and move your data instead.
- Switching between VPS and Streaming VPS. They are different server types. Order a new server in the other line.
- Servers with Windows, automatic daily backups or an extra IPv4. These extras are priced per plan, so the plan can't be changed from the panel yet. Contact support and we'll move it for you.
Change how often you pay
Switching between monthly, quarterly and annual billing is done from the same Change plan button. It takes effect at your next renewal, and nothing is charged now. See Cancel or change a plan.
