Use a discount code when you order, redeem a code for promo credit, and choose how promo credit is spent.

There are two kinds of codes. A discount code takes money off a new order. A promo credit code adds free credit to your account. Both are entered in different places, explained below.

Discount codes (when you order)

• Build your order as usual.
• Enter the code:
• in the VPS order steps, click Have a promo code? and type it in the Promo code box;
• in the cart, type it under Apply promo code and click Apply.
• The discount shows in the order summary before you pay. If a code can't be used, the reason is shown there.

How discount codes work:

• They discount the first invoice of a new order only. Renewals are charged at the normal price, which the order shows.
• They don't apply to renewals, plan changes, adding funds, AI Router credits, domains or gift cards.
• Some codes are for new customers only, can be used once per account, or only cover certain plans or billing periods.

During a sale, the discount is applied automatically, without a code. The site shows a banner while a sale is running.

Promo credit codes

Promo credit codes come from events and giveaways.

• Open Billing → Promo credit & codes. (You can also use Redeem code on the Billing overview.)
• Type the code under Redeem a code and click Redeem.
• The credit appears in the Promo credit list with what it can be used For and when it Expires.

Each code works once per account. After too many wrong codes, you have to wait an hour before trying again.

How promo credit is spent

• With Use promo credit automatically on (the default), promo credit pays new orders and renewals first, oldest-expiring first. Then your paid account credit is used, then your card.
• Under Save promo credit for, tick services whose renewals should get promo credit first, and click Save choice. With automatic use off, only these services get it automatically.
• You can also apply promo credit by hand on any unpaid invoice: open it and use Apply promo credit.

Promo credit rules

• Each amount of promo credit has its own expiry date. Unused promo credit is lost when it expires. The Expiring in 30 days tile warns you.
• It can't be refunded, withdrawn, transferred or turned into paid account credit.
• It can't pay for adding funds or gift cards, and it never pays tax.
• Accounts that have never made a card payment can't use promo credit on VPS plans, domains or AI Router credit packs.
