When a subscription ends: the renewal window and archive · Galaxium Hosting help

What happens to a cancelled service at the end of its period, how to renew it within 10 days, and where old services are listed.

When you cancel a subscription, nothing changes right away. Here is what happens after that, step by step.

1. Until the end of the paid period

The service keeps running normally until the end of the period you've paid for. In My services the Renews column shows Ends and the date instead.

Changed your mind? Click Undo cancel in Billing → Subscriptions any time before that date. See Cancel or change a plan.

Note: If you cancel after a renewal invoice was already paid (for example from account credit), that payment goes back to your account credit. You are never charged for a period you cancelled before it started.

2. The 10-day renewal window

On the end date, the subscription ends and the service is stopped, but not deleted. You have 10 days to change your mind.

To keep the service:

The service starts again as soon as the invoice is paid. The new period follows straight on from the old end date.

3. After 10 days: removed and archived

When the window closes, the service is removed for good, along with everything stored on it. You get a last email to confirm.

Warning: We can't get data back after a service is removed. Download anything you want to keep before the end date: once the service is stopped, you have to renew it to get at your files.

The Archive

Removed services are listed under Archive at the bottom of My services. It shows each old service's name, product, plan, IP address and location (where it had them), and the dates it was ordered and removed.

The Archive is a record only: it holds no files or data. It is kept for as long as your account exists, so you can still look up an old server's IP address or plan later.

Some servers run until a fixed end date

Occasionally a cancelled server keeps running until a set date and is then removed, with no renewal window. My services shows it as Ends with that date, and its page shows a notice. On that date it moves to the Archive.
